ESRD Help Desk Program Named as a FedHealthIT Innovation Award Recipient

FedHealthIT published its list of 8th Annual FedHealthIT Innovation Award winners. Among those named was SoftDev’s prime effort, the ESRD Help Desk. This award recognizes and honors the Federal Health technology and consulting community by celebrating programs nominated and selected by their peers for driving innovation and results across the Department of Veterans Affairs, Military Health, Health and Human Services, and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

The ESRD Help Desk supports the Center for Medicare’s purpose by providing ESRD Subject Matter Expertise and case management services to Medicare Advantage plans when a plan assumes improper Medicare payment. In collaboration with CMS, SoftDev has delivered process innovation that has matured and expedited data reconciliation at a far faster pace. The significance of these cases is that each case represents beneficiary lives– patients with ESRD – which have financial implications on their payments for treatment. The Medicare Advantage Organizations (MAOs) have expressed tremendous support and gratitude for the new process and the quick resolution to ESRD patient claim issues that have existed for many years. SoftDev is proud to have delivered these improvements to the community and, at the same time, honored our mission to improve lives. We recognize and thank our ESRD Help Desk team, including our leads Michael Kennedy, PhD, Danny Grandison, Nancy Carlson, MPA, Cindy Smith, and Patrice Riley for all their thought leadership, hard work, and dedication to the ESRD Community.

This 2022 FedHealthIT Innovation award represents the sixth such award to SoftDev in four years. SoftDev has been recognized in 2018, 2020, and 2021 for innovation delivered on the following programs:  CMS / CROWN Data Discrepancy Support (2 awards), CMS / Alignment of the Quality and Public Reporting Programs and Websites (2 awards), and AHRQ / Medical Expenditure Panel Survey – Household Component Health Policy Booklet Abstraction.
